Pre-College Jitters-You Are Not Alone!

Fa-la-la-la-la-la tis the season. Everyone is going back to school and most of you are going to college.  Whether you are going to college out of state, transferring, or commuting college is a HUGE step in your life.

Most people are leaving home for the first time and it can be kind of intimidating. I went to a very suburban high school on Ohio.  My graduating class had less than 200 people and most of them were going to the local colleges. I choose to go away to school where I had 200 people in my first college Biology class.

I made a promise to myself that I would say “Hi” to everyone and make conversation with people in my class.  I did just that and found people would become home to me.  I met one of my best friends in that 200 person Biology class.

So I guess what I am trying to say is that it is okay to be nervous.  Everyone is nervous about their first day of college.  Make a promise to yourself that you will step outside your comfort zone.  You might meet some great people there!

  1. These jitters are always there. It’s nervous at the start of each new semester. But as you become more accustomed to the college or university, it gets easier. It’s always exciting to see who you may know from previous courses. Make new friends and NEVER burn your bridges. You may just meet your best friend.
